Coming Home

Young men and women everyday give the ultimate sacrifice to you and I,

Each one giving their all for our protection,

When their tour of duty is over,

It is our duty to welcome them home.

These soldiers are the same age as my own children,

I pray for them and their families that they remain safe,

I pray they make a speedy return to their loved ones,

I as well pray for peace on earth.

While they are gone, they miss a great deal of events,

Whether it be special events or the birth of a child,

We miss them each and every day,

And I have come to the conclusion they have missed more.

Have you written to one of them?

Have you taken the time to thank them for your safety?

Welcoming them home is more than important,

It is imperative.
